How Ockendon Training works

We aim to offer the best of both worlds - the attention to detail, personal service and responsiveness of a small firm, as well as the training delivery resources of a larger training company through our long-standing partnerships with a number of trusted associates. Chris Stuart MD

Training is a passion for us and we believe our business is unique

  • We are 100% employee-owned and run, enabling us to focus fully on doing what's best for our clients
  • We have a strong team of experienced training professionals, all of whom are genuinely excited by the challenge of designing and delivering innovative training
  • We focus exclusively on quality tailored training that engages the audience and adds value to our clients
  • We have strategic alliances with a small number of partner firms so that we can offer both the attentive client care of a small company as well as the global delivery capability of a large company
  • We are confident in the quality of our service and don’t lock our clients into long-term contracts. If you no longer want or need to use us then you can cancel at no charge with one month's notice

We have a large team of trainers and developers. All of them are highly talented training professionals with many years of practical experience.  We work with a wide variety of organisations including Akzo Nobel, Barclays, The Cabinet Office, Capita, Concorde Capital, Credit Suisse, Glenview Capital, Heidrick and Struggles, Magnox, Mayer Brown, The National Audit Office, Renaissance Capital, Schroders, Siemens, and Withers.

OTC is based in Kingston, Greater London, but delivers training globally. Our consultants have delivered training for clients in Europe, The US, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region.

Value and quality in financial trainingWe want to be our clients' first choice for training, and we seek to build long term relationships with them based on respect, trust and proven delivery capability.

Quality
Our trainers are recognised as being amongst the very best in their field. Our course designs reflect our focus on learner-centred and experiential training. We tailor our materials to reflect our clients' business processes and practices, making it easier for participants to turn the learning into action back in the workplace.

Clarity We make sure that we understand the business issues that we are helping to address, and agree the scope of our work with the client.

Trust We deal openly and honestly with our clients. We do not make promises that we cannot deliver, and we deliver on the promises that we make.

Service We go the extra mile to deliver outstanding client service - not just the design and delivery of the training itself but also the programme administration and client relationship management.

Creating motivated and successful staffOTC offers genuinely tailored business training with outstanding client service. Our approach is innovative using a variety of techniques to deepen understanding, boost confidence and create more successful employees.

Each client and assignment is different, but our broad approach is:

Initial meeting: We meet you to understand the business problems that the training is to address, the nature of the target audience and to agree the desired outcomes.

Proposal: We outline our suggested training solution, presenting the pros and cons of any alternative options suggested. We always try to ensure an appropriate balance between theory and practice and a mixture of learning styles.

Quotation: We provide quotations for our suggested training solutions. We do not lock our clients into long-term contracts. If you no longer want or need to use us, you can cancel at no charge with 4 weeks notice. (If less than 4 weeks notice then a cancellation charge may apply).

Programme design and material development: We agree the programme design with you and produce the detailed course content, including any e-learning elements. We can work with your own training and technical specialists to ensure the materials are relevant to your business.

Follow up: We assess the impact of each programme in a number of ways from simple feedback to formal testing of knowledge before and after training We can discuss whether further training would help embed the desired skills and behaviours.

Quality assurance in trainingBuying services like training is difficult because you can't "try before you buy". Unless you have prior experience of the trainer, you may not feel 100% confident that they can deliver.

We understand your anxiety, and offer the following points:

  • Experience: All our trainers are highly experienced professionals with solid track records. They have delivered training for companies such as Akzo Nobel, Barclays, The Cabinet Office, Capita, Concorde Capital, Credit Suisse, Glenview Capital, Heidrick and Struggles, Magnox, Mayer Brown, The National Audit Office, Renaissance Capital, Schroders, Siemens, and Withers. We can provide references if required.

Relationship: We encourage clients to meet the training delivery team, and we get to understand your requirements by developing the tailored training together.
Sample courses: We offer marketing days, which give clients and potential clients a risk free chance to experience OTC and its trainers.
No long term contracts: We rely entirely on the quality of our service. If we don't deliver, we won't retain business
